The Irish FA are set to meet on Wednesday night for a final ruling on Bessbrook’s involvement in the fonaCAB Junior Cup final against Tummery Athletic.
The traditional May Day showpiece at the National Stadium has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 18, to allow the football authorities to take a third look at an issue regarding the eligibility of a Bessbrook player .
Two previous investigations by the IFA’s Junior committee found the Carnbane League outfit had no case to answer, but it has been referred to a third hearing, set for Wednesday night.
An IFA spokesman said: “There’s another meeting scheduled for Wednesday evening when all parties involved will discuss the situation with the IFA board. Hopefully, that will lead to a final decision on what team should meet Tummery in the final.”
