Irish FA confirms position on supporters attending elite games

The Irish FA has confirmed that there will be no fans permitted to attend Northern Ireland Women's crunch Euro qualifiers at the end of this month.

Kenny Shiels' side face Belarus on November 27 and then the Faroe Islands on December 1, both at Seaview.

Win the two games and they will be guaranteed a play-off spot for next year's finals.

Both fixtures will be played behind closed doors, in line with the NI Executive's plans for a new lockdown starting on November 27.

The regulations include a ban on supporters attending all fixtures in the Danske Bank Premiership.

"In addition football training and matches below elite level remain suspended," the IFA added in a statement.

"This includes Irish FA Foundation programmes, including Electric Ireland Shooting Stars, McDonald's Fun Football and McDonald’s Small Sided Games Centres, and protocols laid out in the Irish FA's 'A Return to the Everyday Game' document remain suspended until this new lockdown is concluded.

"Non-contact, non-football training, with groups of up to 15 people will also be prohibited from 27 November."
