Irish Derby tips, betting odds, tickets and more for the Curragh race

The Irish Derby takes place at the Curragh this weekend.

It will be the first time the historic race is ran in front of the new grandstand, which opened in May.

Where and when is it?

The race takes place at the Curragh Racecourse in Co Kildare on Saturday, June 29.

What time does it start at?

The first race on the day goes to post at 1.45pm, with the Irish Derby taking place at 5.20pm.

Tips

Anthony Van Dyck won the Epsom Derby earlier in the month despite running into traffic problems during the race. 

I see no reason why he can't complete the Derby double here - an achievement Aidan O'Brien has already accomplished with four other horses.

11/10 is a short price, especially as Madhmoon and Broome weren't to far behind him at Epsom, but I fully expect Anthony Van Dyck to be successful again.

General admission tickets cost €35 if purchased online, while seniors and students cost €25. They can be purchased here.
