Irish dates announced for Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly hologram gigs

Rock n Roll legends Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly are coming to Ireland for the gigs of a lifetime.

The Roy Orbison & Buddy Holly: The Rock ’N’ Roll Dream Tour will see holographic cinema and mixed reality with live entertainment.

The Dublin gig at 3Arena is set to take place on October 7 and the Belfast one at Waterfront Hall is on October 8.

The tour, which was created by Base Hologram, comes after the success of last year’s solo holographic In Dreams: Roy Orbison in Concert tour.

Brian Becker, CEO of Base Hologram, said: “Both Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly set the stage for what was to come down the road in the music industry.

“These two men were forward-thinkers who understood what new forms of technology could do for their craft.

He added: “They defined the genre of Rock and Roll from writing to recording to the standard band configuration and they influenced everyone from Elvis to The Beatles.

“Now to be able to recapture that magic on a grand scale and let their fans see them together will be something truly special.”

Tickets go on sale on Friday and are priced from €68.17.
