Irish customers warned over fake An Post TV Licence email scam that aims to steal payment card details

An Post customers have been warned to stay on high alert over a fake email scam.

The bogus message contains a link to a phishing website that steals payment card details.

Several people have reported finding the messages in their inbox, claiming to come from An Post.

The subject of the email states: "Your TV Licence is about to expire."

A link is supplied in the body of the email leading to a US-based phishing website, where customers are asked to fill in their card details, allowing the criminals to steal them.
