Irish Cup semi-finals: How fans reacted on Twitter to the two marathon games

Irish League fans appear to have enjoyed the long-awaited return of local football.

Monday produced two stirring Irish Cup semi-finals at Windsor Park.

Ballymena United scored a 94th-minute equaliser before beating Coleraine on penalties, while Glentoran also required a penalty shootout to see off Cliftonville.

No fans were allowed to attend the games, with many preferring to watch the action unfold on television or online.

And the reaction was pretty positive, considering it was the first Irish League football they had seen in over four months.

A lot of the credit went to the players who went through 120 minutes of tense cup action before taking on the lottery of a penalty shootout.
