Irish Cup final referee confirmed for May 4 showpiece

The match officials for next month's Tennent's Irish Cup final can be revealed.

Crusaders will take on Championship side Ballinamallard United in the big decider on Saturday, May 4.

The end-of-season showpiece will be played at The National Football Stadium at Windsor Park.

And the referee on the day will be Newtownabbey official Ian McNabb who will take charge of his first Irish Cup final.

The experienced McNabb has refereed in the finals of the League Cup in 2017 and County Antrim Shield (2016), and last season he was fourth official when Coleraine beat Cliftonville in the Irish Cup final.

Ballinamallard Irish Cup final "means everything" to boss Harry McConkey

His assistants this year will be Gareth Eakin and David Anderson, with Steven Gregg acting as fourth official.

Ryan Kelsey has been named as the reserve assistant referee.

All five appoints have been confirmed by the Irish FA's head of refereeing, Trevor Moutray.
