Irish busker's cover of Kodaline's All I Want prompts invitation from band to join them on stage

An Irish busker filmed singing Kodaline's All I Want has incredibly been invited to join the band on stage at an upcoming concert.

John Garrity became an online hit after a passerby shared his cover of the song on the streets of Belfast to social media.

Garrity is a familiar face on the busking scene in the city, but his recent performance caught caught the attention of the band themselves.

The clip of John was first shared on Facebook by passerby Seán Morgan before Christmas, but has since been reposted on Twitter in recent days by Danny Smith, where it has won a whole new army of fans.

And among those who have praised John's rendition of the song is Kodaline star Steve Garrigan, who now wants John to join the band at their next Belfast gig.

He retweeted the video saying: "Great version of All I want, can anybody find this guy, would like to ask him to join us on stage at our next Belfast show."

Speaking to Belfast Live from New York, John said he would be delighted to take Steve up on the offer.

"It would be an amazing experience to get on stage with them, I've been supporting them for years, going to their gigs and singing their songs.

"It's always nice to get that wee bit of feedback on Twitter as well and that support. A lot of people from Belfast have been sharing my stuff and now Dublin and even further afield so hopefully it's going to be bigger and better things this year.

"We will see how it pans out hopefully we get on stage with them and have a bit of fun."

The video was also hailed by a West End Star Ramin Karimloo.

The Iranian-Canadian  actor and singer is mainly known for his work in London's West End and has played the leading male roles in boths of the West Ends' longest running musicals including The Phantom of the Opera.

He tweeted John saying: "Damn you can sing. What an artist you are. X"
