Irish bride-to-be who lost fiance in horror crash on wedding day expecting 'miracle baby'

A tragic bride-to-be who lost her fiance in a horror crash on their wedding day said she is expecting a "miracle baby".

Myles “Miley” Harty, 20, from Askeaton, Co Limerick, died instantly when the car in which he was a front seat passenger left the road and hit a pole at around 1am on August 21 at Cragmore, on the Askeaton to Rathkeale Road.

Mr Harty was due to get married at St Munchin’s Church in Limerick city that afternoon.

Instead, he was laid to rest at his local church the following Tuesday.

A third man, who was a back seat passenger in the car, a silver Skoda hatchback, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick with “non life-threatening” injuries.

And now a month on from the tragedy, Myles' heartbroken bride-to-be Kate Quilligan has shared an emotional message on social media paying tribute to her fiance, adding that she is now expecting a "miracle baby".

The post reads: “One month in heaven today my angel. You broke my heart for the first time ever one month ago when god called you to heaven.

“What I wouldn’t give to spend one last day with you.

“You were my everything and more. I still can’t accept that you’re not coming home to us baby you knew I needed something to get me threw the bad days and that’s [why] you blessed me with our miracle baby.

“I knew you wouldn’t just leave me so you left me a part of you. I’m so happy that I will be able to hold onto a part of you for the rest of my life.”

She added: “I love you forever and a day baby, until we meet again, my brownie you were too good for this earth.

"God really proves he only takes the best when he took you. I love you my brownie.”
