Irish boxer Niall 'Bas' Kennedy handed massive fight on Eddie Hearn card next month

Irish boxer Niall 'Bas' Kennedy has been handed a massive fight on an Eddie Hearn Matchroom Boxing card next month.

The Gorey heavyweight will take on rising star Alen Babic on October 4 in what is a big opportunity to restart his career.

The Garda suffered defeat at the hands of Devin Vargas almost a year ago, but will face the Croatian brute following the success of Hearn's August Fight Camp series.

The 29-year-old is riding a four-fight win streak as he looks to rise through the ranks, his most recent victory came when he stopped Shawndell Winters in two rounds last month.

The fight is set to go down on the undercard of Joshua Boatsi's light-heavyweight clash with Marko Calic, with Sky Sports set to show the fight live.

Making the announcement today, Hearn confirmed that venue and ticket information has not yet been decided.

In a tweet, he said: "For people asking about tickets/venues..we are pushing as hard as we can with the Government for fans to return safely as early as the @boxingbuatsi card on October 4th.

"We will have further news this week but all our schedule will go ahead regardless."
