Irish actress Jessie Buckley has been named among the 10 Actors to Watch for 2019 by US film industry publication Variety.
The magazine has announced 10 rising acting talents every year since 1998, with many going on to receive Oscar nominations and wins later in their careers, including Brie Larson, Lupita Nyong’o and Mahershala Ali.
Buckley, who was seen earlier this year in Wild Rose and in the hit HBO mini-series Chernobyl, has been singled out along with nine other stars.
She can next be seen on the big screen alongside Renee Zellweger in Judy, which is slated for release on October 4.
Stranger Things star Maya Hawke – the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke – also made the list following her role in the Netflix series and her appearance in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Cynthia Erivo, Kevin Harrison Jr, Noah Jupe, Rob Morgan, Camila Morrone, Glen Powell, Margaret Qualley and Da’Vine Joy Randolph complete the list of honourees.
The 10 actors will be showcased at an event in Newport Beach, California on November 3.
