Not only do Irish people have the gift of the gab, we also have one of the world's sexiest accents.
The Irish accent has beaten stiff competition of the dulcet tones of the Italians and the sweet-sounding French to be ranked third sexiest accent in the world in a poll conducted by the 'Big Seven Travel' website.
"Whether it’s a Jamie Dornan-esque Northern Irish accent or a lilting Cork jibe, people the world over love the Irish accent," a spokesperson said.
And our closest neighbours also ranked highly, with the Scottish accent ranked in sixth position and the English accent in 12th position.

But the melodic Welsh accent was much farther down the list, coming 45th out 50.
Croatia was ranked least sexiest accent, just making the top 50.
The top spot went to the distinctive New Zealand accent, with the South African twang coming in second.
