Ireland Women's star Beibhinn Parsons to miss rest of Six Nations

Beibhinn Parsons won't feature for Ireland again in this year's Six Nations.

The 18-year-old winger scored memorable tries against Scotland and Wales in the opening two home games at Energia Park.

However the Ballinasloe native, who became the youngest player, male or female, to play for Ireland at 16, will now concentrate on her Leaving Cert studies.

"With Beibhinn, after a couple of big weeks for her, we've discussed it with her and we're going to give  her the time now to go and complete her Leaving Cert," said head coach Adam Griggs.

"It's a very busy time for her and came up with a plan that was going to suit her best.

"And her studies are just as important as the rugby, so for the moment we're going to give her that time off.

"She'll come back to us in the summer, hopefully."

And while the improving visitors will be very much the underdogs, Griggs is backing his players to put it up to England.

He said: "With two wins, we're kind of going over there with the attitude of, 'Why not us?'

"While those three home wins are still our target, we've got nothing to lose going over to England this week.

"That's how our attitude has to be - and really put it up to England, because for the most part they get things the way they want them.

"They're normally the team dominating and we have to not give them anything easy.

"We're not going to take a backwards step, focus on getting the processes right and if you can do that, you never know".
