Ireland women's manager Vera Pauw set to land contract extension

Vera Pauw is poised to land a contract extension as Ireland women’s senior manager.

The 57-year-old was appointed as Colin Bell’s permanent successor in September and has hit the ground running.

With three games to go, Ireland are leading their qualification group for the Euro 2021 finals.

That tournament has been kicked back to 2022 because the men’s Euro 2020 was postponed for a year in the wake of Covid-19.

Two of Ireland’s remaining qualifiers are against group favourites Germany but top spot or a playoff are up for grabs.

Ireland have banked 10 points from 12 since Pauw took charge and the FAI has confirmed the Dutch coach is due for fresh contract talks.
