Ireland weather tomorrow as Met Eireann forecast welcome change in conditions

The weather is about to drastically change as a period of high pressure begins to dominate the weather pattern through the rest of this week.

This welcome arrival will mean that good conditions carry into the weekend, bringing mainly dry and settled conditions.

However, before these good conditions arrive, tonight is shaping up to be cloudy with some light drizzle in places.

Tonight will be cloudy in Leinster and Munster with lingering drizzle patches.

This light rainfall will die out overnight though with clear spells developing. Ulster and Connacht are set to remain dry though with long clear spells.

Elsewhere, it's set to be misty in places with fog patches developing. Temperatures will vary between 0 and 3 degrees over the northern half of the country with a risk of frost, but less cold further south with lows of 3 to 6 degrees.

As for tomorrow, a bright and dry start to the day is expected with conditions improving due to the period of high pressure.

There will be some cloud developing with the odd chance of an isolated shower, but expect to see good sunny spells too. The mercury will be in the mid-teens with temperatures ranging from 10-16 degrees, coolest in the north and east.

Wednesday night will also be dry with clear skies.

Thankfully, these sunny and clear conditions will continue as the week develops with "dry and settled conditions" becoming the norm over the next few days.

Thursday morning and afternoon will be dry and sunny with maximum temperatures ranging between 13 to 16 degrees across much of the country, warmest in Connacht and northwest Munster.

Met Eireann has said: "Friday will be another dry day with variable cloud and sunshine. Again the highest temperatures will be Connacht and northwest Munster with highs of 14 to 16 degrees."

As for the weekend, the current indications suggest that the dry and settled conditions will remain into the weekend and early next week as the welcome period of high pressure dictates the weather patterns.

Met Eireann has said: "Saturday, Sunday and Monday will continue mainly dry with sunny spells. Saturday may be a rather cloudy day in Munster, however, with the chance of some patchy drizzle there during the morning.

"Day-time highs will continue to range from about 11 to 16 or 17 degrees, mildest in the west and coolest near eastern and southern coasts in mostly moderate east or southeast breezes. The nights will be quite cold with the lowest temperatures of around 2 to 5 degrees with some patches of mist and fog."
