Ireland weather: The areas set for 25C on Saturday as Met Eireann forecast one more lovely day before sudden change

Met Eireann are forecasting one more glorious day of weather in part of Ireland before temperatures begin to dip back to normal next week.

Many parts of the country will see 25C or even higher on Saturday with splendid sunshine and beach weather.

However, other parts of the country will have to deal with cloud cover and the odd thunder and lightning shower.

Those in the north-west will see the best of it with Galway, Mayo and Donegal among the counties expected to see plenty of sun.

It's bad news if you are in most of Munster and Leinster though with a bit of a washout expected in the early afternoon.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Tomorrow there will be showers or longer spells of rain in Munster and south Connacht, and also in Leinster later. Some showers will be heavy and possibly thundery.

"There will be drier and sunnier weather for Ulster and north Connacht. Staying warm with highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees in light variable or easterly breezes."
