Met Eireann has issued a 'snow warning' as the whole country is to be hit with some kind of wintry conditions in the latter days of 2021.
Wednesday in Dublin will start with frosty and icy conditions remaining dry throughout with sunny spells developing.
Temperatures of 3C will fall to -2C becoming very cold overnight with more frost and ice forming.
New Year's Eve in Dublin according to Met Eireann will be a "breezy day with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, turning wintry in places, with the risk of hail and isolated thunderstorms".
This forecast comes as a snow/ice warning is in place until 12pm today for Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.
Met Eireann states: "Further falls of snow in places this morning leading to accumulations in some areas."
Here's what the weather looks like from New Year's Eve onwards:
NYE : "A breezy day tomorrow with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, turning wintry in places, with the risk of hail and isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 4 or 5 degrees but feeling colder in fresh and gusty northerly winds. Dry with clear spells in many areas as showers retreat to coasts, most frequent on northern and western coasts with a continued risk of hail. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees. Northerly winds will ease mostly moderate."
NYD: "A dry, bright day for many areas with scattered showers affecting coastal counties, especially to the north and northwest. Highest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees with light to moderate northerly winds. Turning very cold at night in clear spells with frost and ice forming. Holding dry in many areas with showers mainly on northern and western coasts. Lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees with a light northwest breeze."
Saturday : "A cold, crisp start Saturday. Some showers near coasts may move further inland in a moderate northerly breeze, but many places will be dry with bright spells. It will be cold with highest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.
Saturday night: Very cold Saturday night with widespread frost and ice likely. Dry and clear in many areas with showers affecting coastal regions. Lowest temperatures of -2 to 0 degrees in light northerly winds."
Sunday : "Frost and ice will slowly clear during the morning. Another largely dry day with crisp winter sunshine however showers will continue to affect coasts. Highest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees with a light to moderate northerly breeze. Sunday night will be cold with temperatures falling near or below zero, and frost developing in light winds."
Monday : "Cold again with showers in exposed coastal areas, but elsewhere remaining dry. Temperatures will be just a few degrees above zero with a moderate northeast breeze. Night time temperatures will fall below zero with frost or ice likely."
Next week : "Similar showery conditions are expected for the early days of next week, showers most frequent on eastern coasts with a northeasterly airflow."
