Ireland will enjoy a mini-heatwave early next week before heavy rain batters the country.
Met Eireann say that after a mixed weekend, temperatures will soar between Monday and Wednesday.
But unfortunately for us all, things are looking bleak once a band of rain arrives in the middle of the week.
A forecaster said: "This morning will be mostly cloudy with patches of mist and just occasional sunny spells. Further sunny spells will develop during the afternoon and evening but scattered showers will spread across the country from the south also.
"Cloud will thicken in the southwest later in the evening, bringing patchy light rain or drizzle. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in a light south to southeast breeze.
"Tomorrow, Sunday, will start dry in many areas with just isolated showers and hazy sunny spells in the east and south.
"The north and west will be cloudier with rain developing in the west later in the morning, before gradually spreading northeastwards through the afternoon and evening. Some parts of the south and southeast will hold dry though, with hazy sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees, coolest in the northwest, in a light to moderate southerly winds.
"There will be warm sunny spells across the southern half of the country but it will be cloudier further north with scattered showers, though these will become isolated during the evening. Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees with light south to southwest breezes.
Tuesday looks set to be a dry and very warm day for the time of year, with long spells of sunshine - but things aren't looking good as the week moves on.
Met Eireann added: "It looks like temperatures will gradually decrease through the rest of the week and it will be unsettled with showers or rain, heavy at times."
