Ireland weather: Met Eireann pinpoints scorching 17C days before big change in weird forecast

Met Eireann has pinpointed four days of 17C temperatures with one day even hitting highs of 18C - all before a massive wintry change at the end of the week.

Monday right through to Thursday will see the celsius so close to touching the golden number of 20C before a shocking twist over the weekend.

It will turn more unsettled on Easter Sunday and much cooler, with frost at night and some wintry showers through the early days of next week, Met Eireann warn.

While it starts rather cloudy on Monday with the risk of patchy and drizzly weather, it will become a sunny and mild day with breezy conditions as the dial moves to 17C.

It will be a mostly dry day on Tuesday too with sunny spells emerging as the day progresses and highs of 18C in the skies.

Here's how the next few days are looking according to Met Eireann:

Wednesday: "Mostly cloudy with the best of any bright spells in the southeast. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the northwest will persist through the morning and gradually break up during the afternoon, with just occasional patchy rain and drizzle elsewhere. Much cooler from the previous few days with highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees, generally, however it will be a degree or two warmer in the southeast. Northerly breezes will be light to occasionally moderate."

Thursday: "Dry with good sunny spells and some passing clouds. Highest temperatures just 10 to 13 degrees generally, coolest along northern and eastern coasts, increasing to between 14 to 17 degrees in the southwest. Winds will be moderate to fresh easterly, decreasing mostly moderate by evening."

Friday: "Dry with good sunny spells, however it will be cloudier at times over the northern half of the country. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees, coolest in the north and along eastern coasts in light to moderate northerly breezes."
