While the country was basked in glorious sunshine this week it looks like that is set to come to an end this weekend.
Unfortunately the sunny spells look likely to come to an end by tomorrow with a very very cloudy weekend ahead according to Met Eireann.
Sadly next week will bring even worse weather with the return of the rain and gloomy skies.
Today will be mostly dry with some sunny spells across the country especially in Muster and along the east.
There may be a few spots of drizzle near northwestern coasts and hills but temperatures will hit highs of 9C to 13C.
A forecaster said however that it will be tonight when we start to see a change in the sunny weather we have enjoyed.
And unfortunately it will get worse into next week.
They said: "Continuing mostly cloudy tonight. A little patchy drizzle will drift across the country at times, but most areas will stay dry. Patches of mist will form in near calm conditions, with lows of 4 to 7 degrees.
Speaking on the outlook for the coming days they said: "Mostly grey and cloudy, but with a lot of dry weather and light winds. There will be some patchy drizzle at times also. This will give way to breezier weather from Tuesday with some rain arriving through midweek.
"Continuing mostly cloudy and mostly dry on Saturday. Becoming misty with patchy light drizzle in Ulster edging southwards overnight. Lows of 3 to 6 degrees, in a light northwesterly breeze.
"Sunday will be mostly cloudy, and holding mostly dry, but again the cloud will be thick enough to bring a little patchy drizzle at times. Highs of 9 to 11 degrees, in a light northwesterly breeze. Lows of 2 to 6 degrees on Sunday night.
On top of the gloomy weekend things are already looking more grim into next week.
A forecaster added: "A similar day on Monday. A lot of cloud around, but keeping mostly dry, especially further east. There will be some drizzle at times, which may become more persistent in the west and north. Highs of 10 to 12 degrees, in a light to moderate southwesterly breeze.
"We begin to see a change in our weather from Tuesday as southwesterly winds strengthen. A mostly cloudy day with patchy light rain or drizzle at times but a lot of dry weather too and any rainfall amounts will be small. Highs of 11 to 13 degrees, in fresh southwesterly winds, strong on coasts."
