Ireland weather: Met Eireann pinpoint the days that will have this week's best weather

While the rain has put a literal dampener on the recent spell of sunshine that we've all enjoyed, conditions are set to improve over the coming few days.

Met Eireann has said that highs of 23 degrees will be reached on Monday but Saturday (19 degrees) and Sunday (21 degrees) are also sharing up to be quite nice too.

The overall forecast for the coming few days is quite mixed with showers and sunny spells expected over the weekend. However, conditions will become more settled with temperatures increasing.

Friday morning and afternoon

The morning will be cool and cooler with a mixture of cloud and sunny spells.

Lingering rainfall will affect the north and east of the country, with the chance of longer showers later in the day. Sadly, the temperature won't hit recent fights with the mercury expected to range between 12 to 16 degrees.

Friday night

The rain will continue in the east and southeast. Elsewhere, it will be mostly dry with clear spells and the odd shower.

Saturday morning and afternoon

Once again, a mix of cloud and sunny spells to start the day but there will also be scattered showers too. Thankfully, conditions will become drier as the day develops with temperatures peaking at 19 degrees.

Saturday night

Dry and clear with the lowest temperatures ranging from 6 to 10 degrees.

Sunday morning and afternoon

After a dry and sunny morning, a few scattered showers will likely develop. However, it's set to be quite warm too with temperatures 16 - 21 degrees expected.

Sunday night

Met Eireann state that it's set to be dry but the northwest might see a few mild showers.

There is also a chance that rain will develop on the southeastern and southern coasts.

Monday

The forecast states that we can expect to see: "Good sunny spells and mostly dry though there is the continued chance of some showers in the south of the country. Highest temperatures of 18 to 23 degrees, cooler in the north and northwest in mainly light northerly breezes."

The remainder of the week

At present, there's some uncertainty surrounding the accuracy of any forecast but Met Eireann is predicting dry and settled conditions.

However, there is a slight risk of heavy showers moving up from the southeast. Elsewhere, it's set to remain warm and humid with daytime highs in the low to mid-twenties,
