Met Eireann has issued a country wide Status Yellow alert as dense fog is set to sweep across the country.
However despite the warning Met Eireann have said that today will be mainly dry and there is even some chance the sun will appear today.
The status yellow fog alert came into effect at midnight on Sunday and will remain in place until 10am on Monday.
But thankfully Met Eireann has said that temperatures will stay above freezing in what's said to be a cold, crisp but dry day.
However temperatures will drop again overnight.
Any rain that does appear will be contained to the coasts with a few isolated showers predicted.
A forecaster said: "Today will be cold and rather foggy but mostly dry. Where fog lingers temperatures will struggle to rise above freezing, where the fog lifts the sun will come through with temperatures of about 5 degrees.
"It will be a mainly dry day with just isolated showers at the coasts.
"Tonight will remain largely dry with isolated showers along coasts. However, there will be outbreaks of rain in the southwest.
"Fog will become dense again in many places with lowest temperatures of +1 to -2 degrees generally in a light easterly breeze becoming northeasterly later."
Looking to the start of next week fog will slowly clear most places in the morning leaving a mostly dry day with sunny spells. However, there will be scattered showers along coasts through the day.
It will be quite cold with temperatures between 1 and 5 degrees, coolest where the fog lingers, in a light northerly breeze, later becoming moderate northwesterly.
