Met Eireann’s latest forecast hints at a return of calm and bright conditions next week after a few days of rain and potential thunderstorms.
According to the forecaster, conditions will continue to be unsettled early on next week, however, amid the rain there will be some “sunny spells on Monday and Tuesday.”
And temperatures are forecast to pick up after Tuesday.
The sunshine won’t be sticking around long for some, “with longer spells of rain expected later."
The forecaster said: “Highest temperatures generally ranging 11 to 15 degrees with temperatures possibly picking up after Tuesday.”
As for this afternoon, there will be some further showers moving towards Ulster.
Cloud cover will increase from the west with rain developing on western coasts this evening.
Thursday will bring bright or sunny spells with a few showers in the morning.

Friday will feature sunny spells and showers, which will be heaviest and most frequent over the western half of the country with a risk of isolated thunderstorms.
There will be good dry spells at times in eastern areas and highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees generally in fresh and gusty westerly winds.
Saturday will bring longer spells of rain and it will be largely cloudy to start the day - but good sunny spells will extend from the west during the afternoon.
There will be good sunny spells on Sunday but scattered showers will persist along with the risk of thunderstorms across the country.
