With a weather warning currently in place for 24 counties on the island of Ireland, the concept of 24-degree sunshine must seem like a million miles away.
However, next week is set to see a drastic improvement in Ireland's weather conditions with the mercury set to reach highs of 24 degrees over the coming days.
In terms of the overall pattern, next week will be mainly dry with settled weather, sunshine and above normal temperatures.
As for the best days, Met Eireann has forecast that conditions will pickup from Monday onwards with the followings days expected to reach highs of; Monday (23 degrees), Tuesday (24 degrees), Wednesday to Friday (maximum values of 20 to 23 or 24 degrees).
As for the next few days, here's what's on the horizon...
Tonight
The heavy showers are expected to disappear this evening with just isolated showers remaining.
Cloud will increase from the west later, with patchy light rain or drizzle developing in the southwest by morning.

Sunday morning and afternoon
Dry in most areas with sunny spells developing, the best in the east and northeast.
For the rest of the country, it's set to be cloudy with patchy drizzle, mainly in parts of Munster and along the west coast. Highest temperatures 17 to 21 degrees.
Sunday night
Dry with some clouds, but patchy drizzle is possible in the west and southwest. Mist or fog are likely.
Monday morning and afternoon
Dry, sunny and warm conditions are expected with maximum temperatures of 20 to 23 degrees, a little lower on coastal areas.

Monday night
Dry overnight with minimum temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, but patches of mist or fog may develop.
Tuesday morning and afternoon
Another dry and sunny day is expected with good sunshine.
The day will be warm with maximum temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees, but a little cooler on eastern and southern coasts.
Wednesday to Friday
At present, Met Eireann has not given a day-by-day breakdown for those three days but the good conditions are set to continue with the mercury reaching highs of 24 degrees in some places.
Met Eireann has said: "Little change. Continuing dry, and mostly sunny with light to moderate winds, easterly or variable in direction. Daytime temperatures will still be a little above normal, with maximum values of 20 to 23 or 24 degrees, but a little lower on exposed coasts. Misty in places at night, with fog patches."

Next weekend
At present, early indications suggest that the weather will be mainly dry, but some showers may develop. Temperatures will still be around normal, or above.
