The factor 50 could be needed within days as Met Eireann has forecast a big change in the Irish weather next week.
After a bleak day on Friday, conditions will improve as the weekend progresses, with things really heating up from Monday onwards.
The national forecaster says that Thursday night will see heavy rain developing in parts of west Munster and west Connacht, with patchy showers in the eastern half of the country.
Friday will largely be a washout, with outbreaks of rain extending eastwards to all areas.
The showers will be heavy and possibly thundery in parts of west Munster, west Connacht and later in west Ulster, with a risk of localised flooding. Temperatures will reach highs of 17 to 21C.

As for Friday night, rain will continue over the eastern half of Ireland and will be heavy at times.
It will be drier further west for much of the night, but showers will move in from the Atlantic by morning. It will be mild and humid, with temperatures no lower than 14 to 16C
Met Eireann says the outlook is that it will become warmer over the weekend and next week.
A forecaster said: "Saturday morning will be dull in the east of the country with further rain, which will clear slowly through the morning and early afternoon. Brighter weather with showers will follow from the west.
"The showers will become widespread and heavy through the afternoon and evening and some may be thundery with a risk of spot flooding. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21C with mostly light southerly or variable breezes.

"On Saturday night, showers will continue for a time and will gradually die out. It will become dry with clear spells and with patches of mist and fog developing. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13C.
"On Sunday, some bright intervals will develop after any mist or fog clears. There'll be a good deal of dry weather and some scattered showers. It will be warm with highest temperatures of 18 to 21C and light northerly breezes."
And the good news for next week, according to Met Eireann, is that it looks like high pressure will dominate the weather over Ireland from Monday to Wednesday.
It will be warm and largely dry with sunny spells and highest temperatures of 19 to 22C.
