As if rain, thunderstorms and gale winds weren't enough, it looks like Ireland may also have to contend with 'mini-tornados' in too.
One Irishman has captured footage of a strange weather event that appears to show a twister taking shape on Thursday.
The video was taken in Blarney in Co Cork, and tracks the dark cloud mass as it transforms into a swirling grey tour de force.
Ruairi Twomey filmed the 'mini-tornado' from his office window near Blarney and did a double-take when the cloud transformed in front of his eyes.
"It was a surprise to see alright - you could see it forming quite faintly in the distance and then it really took its shape," he told CorkBeo.
"It's actually pretty large considering the distance I was looking at it from."

The video was doing the rounds on social media on Thursday, with many people questioning what was going on with the weather.
However, Alan Reilly from Carlow Weather explained the phenomenon.
According to him, the twister is in fact a funnel cloud if it doesn't make contact with the ground. If it does make contact, then it is considered a tornado.
it comes as Met Eireann issued an urgent thunderstorm warning for 22 counties with miserable conditions are set to hit.
The Status Yellow alert is in place for Leinster, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Connacht, Tipperary and Waterford until 9pm on Thursday.
It reads: "Heavy, potentially thundery downpours breaking out this afternoon and evening will produce some localised flooding."
Meanwhile, Friday looks set to remain largely unsettled with some heavy showers in the north.
