Ireland weather forecast: FIVE Met Eireann warnings as Dublin, Cork and rest of country to be hammered over 48 hour period

Five separate weather warnings and an advisory for the whole country have been issued by Met Eireann as Ireland braces itself for "unseasonably" windy conditions.

A weather advisory for all of Ireland begins at 6pm this evening and will last until 6pm on Saturday.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Unseasonably windy weather is expected to affect the country during the period. Given the time of year, there is potential for wind-related impacts such as debris from trees and movement of unsecured outdoor items."

There has also been five separate weather warnings including a status orange gale marine warning which is currently active.

Met Eireann state on their website: "Southeasterly gales or strong gales developing this afternoon and evening on Irish Coastal Waters from Roches Point to Loop Head to Bloody Foreland.



"Winds veering gale or strong gale southwesterly later on Irish Coastal Waters from Howth Head to Loop Head to Fair Head and on the Irish Sea, occasionally touching storm force 10 locally in the west and northwest."

A status yellow small craft warning was also issued on Thursday morning.

Separately six counties have all been issued with status yellow warnings which start at various times.

Clare and Kerry will be the first to come under the yellow warning from 7pm tonight with 50 to 65 km/h winds and gusts of 90 to 110 km/h - this warning lasts until 5pm Friday.

Galway and Mayo's warning starts at 9pm tonight with wind speeds of 50 to 65 km/h and gusts of 90 to 110 km/h - this will be in place until 9pm Friday.

Donegal and Sligo's warning will start at 6am on Friday morning and last until 9pm Friday night with mean speeds of 50 to 65 km/h and gusts of 90 to 110 km/h.
