Andy Farrell's men have put in an impressive performance so far as the forecast bad weather has so far stayed away from the Aviva Stadium.
Jordan Larmour got the opening try of the game after Ireland's early pressure finally paid off.
But Wales took the lead in the 28th minute after Tomos Williams got a try from nowhere and Dan Biggar converted.
Their lead lasted only a couple of minutes though as Tadhg Furlong put Ireland back in front with a try before Johnny Sexton successfully kicked the conversion after missing the earlier one.
