The Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly has said that the vaccine registration portal will open for those aged between 18-24 to get an mRNA vaccine on Wednesday morning.
It will be the last cohort of Ireland's vaccine rollout plan for adults to get the jab.
Mr Donnelly tweeted: "All those 18+ can register for an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer / Moderna) from tomorrow This is because our vaccination programme is ahead of schedule and continues to perform really well. Huge thanks to our vaccination teams and volunteers in vaccination centres."
The boost comes as 1,110 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Ireland in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures were released by the National Public Health Emergency Team on Tuesday.
As of 8am on Tuesday, 89 people are in hospital with the virus. 21 of these people are in the ICU.
In other news, the Irish Mirror got a look at draft regulations for the return of indoor dining.
Customers who want to temporarily leave a pub or restaurant will have to be stamped or tagged which must be checked or returned on re-entry, under draft plans to reopen indoor dining.
Government officials are set to meet hospitality representatives in an hour to finalise rules and regulations which will facilitate the resumption of indoor dining.
In draft regulations seen by the Irish Mirror, one rule states that if a customer leaves the premises for any reason, the recommendation is that they will be required to notify a staff member and be provided with a “clearly identifiable non-transferable ‘tag/stamp’ which must be returned/checked on re-entry.”
