Ireland v Wales predicted team: How Stephen Kenny's side could line-out for the Nations League clash

Stephen Kenny could make a number of changes to his starting XI from Thursday's disappointing penalties defeat to Slovakia for today's Nations League clash with Wales.

The Boys in Green host Ryan Giggs' side at the Aviva Stadium just three days after that loss in Bratislava.

Darren Randolph was been ever-present in Republic of Ireland teams since Shay Given's retirement and it would be a surprise if he wasn't between the posts again this afternoon.

The back four again looks set to pick itself with Shane Duffy and John Egan starting in central defence, while Matt Doherty and Enda Stevens should play at right-back and left-back respectively.

Jeff Hendrick should keep his place in midfield and could be joined by Jayson Molumby and Alan Browne in place of James McCarthy, who is a doubt for the game, and Conor Hourihane.

Browne was one of a couple of players Kenny praised ahead of today's match, with the Ireland boss also mentioning Robbie Brady, Callum O'Dowda and Callum Robinson, and they look set to make up the attacking trio at the Aviva in the absence of David McGoldrick.

Daryl Horgan and Sean Maguire have both been called up to the squad in place of Aaron Connolly and Adam Idah, who were deemed close contacts of an FAI staffer who tested positive for Covid-19.

Here's our predicted Ireland team for their clash with Wales:

Randolph; Doherty, Duffy, Egan, Stevens; Hendrick, Molumby, Browne; Brady, Robinson, O’Dowda
