Ireland Under-21 star Ryan Johansson has joined Dutch side Fortuna Sittard on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old, born in Luxembourg to a Swedish father and Irish mother, declared for Ireland after a tug of war between the three nations and subsequent problems with FIFA eligibility rules.
A versatile midfielder, Johansson is expected to earn vital game time with the Eredivisie side as he joins from Spanish giants Sevilla.
Johansson rose to prominence as a highly sought after youth prospect at Bayern Munich before making the move to Spain, he made his Ireland U21 debut earlier this year.
"We have been able to conclude a very good deal with Sevilla, which benefits all parties," Fortuna Sittard technical director Sjoerd Ars said.
"Ryan is a talented midfielder who can play in multiple positions. He is well trained in several countries and at several top clubs.
"We give him the chance to fly hours and to develop further in the Eredivisie."
