With international travel set to return on July 19, the Government has published an updated guide on what travellers should consider before embarking on their trip.
If you plan on international travel, there are four things you should consider.
To begin with, the Government is asking people to take heed of country-specific advice.
Passengers are being asked to make sure they are aware of current international travel advice for the country they plan to visit.
The second instruction is about passport renewal and travellers are being asked to check their passport.
If it is out of date, people are being asked to use the passport online system for renewal.
Thirdly, the quarantine rules are being stressed and passengers are being asked to be certain that they fully understand the quarantine rules that apply when they return to Ireland. The rules are legally binding.
The final important point concerns the Digital Covid Certificate and passengers are being asked to ensure they're fully aware of the cert for travel in the EU.
Speaking to Virgin Media last night, Health Minister Stephen Donnely said that he's confident international travel will go ahead a planned, despite concerns about the Delta variant.
"International travel will go ahead but with the proviso that was agreed by the government about two weeks ago, which is If you're fully vaccinated or you're recovered, obviously go but the travel advisory from a public health perspective is to still avoid non-essential travel," he said.
