Ireland team v Gibraltar: Stephen Kenny makes five changes to side that started against Greece

Stephen Kenny has made five changes to his Republic of Ireland team for their Euro 2024 qualifier with Gibraltar.

James McClean becomes the seventh man to win 100 caps for the Boys in Green in the must-win clash.

The Derry man, who was used only as a substitute in Friday night’s 2-1 defeat in Greece, comes into the team with Dara O’Shea, Jamie McGrath, Jason Knight and Michael Obafemi as Darragh Lenihan, Callum O’Dowda, Jayson Molumby, Adam Idah and the suspended Matt Doherty make way.

Doherty was sent off in the dying seconds on Friday night for a push on Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas amid a bad-tempered scuffle.

Gibraltar boss Jose Ribas has kept faith with 10 of the men who started Friday’s 3-0 home defeat by France, with Dundalk defender Louie Annesley taking the place of 41-year-old striker Lee Casciaro.
