Brighton and Ireland defender Shane Duffy issued a message to football fans on Instagram amid the Premier League's coronavirus shutdown.
England's top flight has suspended all fixtures until April 4 as sporting bodies around Europe make calls on their schedules. Brighton had been due to host Arsenal today.
Duffy posted: "We will be back soon hopefully! Everyone stay safe out there we will get through it."
Ireland are due to face Slovakia in Bratislava behind closed doors in their Euro 2020 playoff semi-final on March 26. However, that fixture is in serious doubt after FIFA and the Slovakian FA called on UEFA to postpone the playoffs.
FIFA said: “The situation is rapidly evolving across the world.
“We recommend that all international matches in March and April should be postponed. We consider this to be the most responsible step to take.
“To hold the matches under current circumstances presents potential health risks to players and the general public.
“It would also compromise the sporting integrity of such matches insofar as certain teams may be deprived of their best squads whilst others may not.”
Seven of the Slovakia squad play in in Italy and are stuck there because of a nationwide lockdown.
With the Euros about to be delayed for a year, the playoffs will be played in June or September.
FIFA added: “With goodwill and flexibility from all sides, appropriate solutions will be found to allow the matches take place with minimal disruption.”
