Ireland squad to have further Covid tests as they prepare for Wales clash

The depleted Ireland squad will have further Covid tests this morning as Stephen Kenny pieces together a panel for tomorrow's Nations League clash with Wales.

After playing 90 minutes against England on Thursday night, Alan Browne tested positive for the virus yesterday but the FAI have said that no other player is a close contact.

Browne is the second Ireland player in this international window to test positive after Callum Robinson did so in midweek.

With Wembley starter John Egan (head) and Harry Arter (calf) ruled out for the Wales and Bulgaria games in the coming days, Kenny was last night finalising call-ups.

Ryan Manning and Jack Byrne joined up with the squad yesterday ahead of the Cardiff encounter, Josh Cullen and Jason Knight are also included while Ciaran Clark and Darragh Lenihan are expected to join up today.
