Snow fell across Ireland on Friday - with Met Eireann warning that more is to come.
Ireland is facing a full weekend of wintry weather, with further snow, sleet, hail, ice and subzero temperatures on the way.
It comes after a nationwide snow warning was in place on Thursday night and Friday morning.
Road users are being urged to take extra care as there will be treacherous driving conditions in parts.
In its latest forecast for Friday, Met Eireann said: “Scattered outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow early this afternoon with some treacherous driving conditions. Isolated thunderstorms and hail showers too.

“Rain will spread eastwards across the country tonight turning heavy at times, especially in the west and southwest with a risk of localised flooding. Lowest temperatures of 0C to 3C during the evening in the north and east but a milder 4C to 8C in the south and west.
“Milder conditions accompanying the rain will extend across the country overnight, as south to southwest winds increase fresh to strong and gusty.”

Looking ahead to the weekend, Met Eireann says more snow is expected.
In an update on their website, a forecaster said: “Rain will quickly clear on Saturday morning with sunny spells and showers following from the west, hail with isolated thunderstorms are possible, while showers will turn wintry through the evening hours.
“While the day will start mild temperatures will drop through the day with early afternoon highs of 4C to 7C, in fresh and gusty westerly winds increasing very strong near Atlantic coasts.
“Showers will become confined to western and northern coastal counties on Saturday night with long dry periods and clear spells elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 1C to 4C generally, holding a little milder near Atlantic coasts.
“On Sunday, apart from a few wintry showers in the northwest at first it will be a mostly dry start to the day. However, rain will develop in the southwest and spread northeastwards to all areas through the afternoon and evening.
“Afternoon temperatures of 7C to 11C, but becoming milder during the evening as moderate southeasterly winds veer southwesterly.”
The national forecaster’s outlook for next week is for unsettled weather at first with rain or blustery showers, but becoming milder and more settled towards the end of the period.
