Ireland's Women's Six Nations clash with France postponed due to French Covid cases

Ireland's final Women's Six Nations game against France has been postponed after a Covid-19 outbreak in the French camp.

Sunday's meeting between the sides in Donnybrook had originally been fixed for Lille but the French agreed to travel so that Ireland's players would not have to quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival home from France.

Both sides had been due to name their teams on Friday but the match is now off due to positive cases among the French panel.

It is likely to be rearranged for a new date next month if France do not forfeit the game.

Ireland ran out 21-7 winners over Italy in Dublin last Saturday, while England were crowned Six Nations champions and France drew with Scotland.

The tournament won't reach a conclusion until December as Italy and Scotland are due to clash in a fixture that will double up as part of the European qualification process for the World Cup.
