UEFA has confirmed that Ireland’s playoff semi-final clash with Slovakia will take place on Thursday, October 8 in Bratislava.
European football’s governing body today announced a series of calendar updates for club and international football after its ExCo meeting.
The Euro 2020 playoff final against either Northern Ireland or Bosnia will go ahead on November 12.
Both the Slovakia game and the playoff final will be the first matches in respective triple headers in October and November.
Ireland also have six Nations League games across September, October and November against Bulgaria, Finland and Wales.
Those fixtures were published in March but UEFA will announce today if any adjustments have to be made to the schedule.
Meanwhile, it is confirmed that Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers, Derry City and Bohemians will play one-legged games in the Champions League and Europa League.
All qualifiers will be one-off matches except for the Champions League playoff round which will be two legs.
The first qualifying round of the Champions League will take place on August 18/19 with the second round to follow a week later.
The third qualifying round is scheduled for September 15/16 with the playoff first-leg the following week and concluding with the second-leg on September 29/30.
Europa League first round matches will take place on August 27. The second round is September 17 and the third round on September 24.
The Europa League playoff round is slated for October 1.
And UEFA are considering whether to compensate the clubs who do not land home ties in the draw, which is scheduled for early August.
