A national summer survey has revealed a definitive list of Ireland’s top tourist attractions- with nearly a quarter of Irish people voting
for The Cliffs of Moher as their favourite hotspots.
Other well-known destinations that appeared in the top five are Dublin Zoo, Fota Wildlife Park, The Giant’s Causeway, and the Guinness Storehouse.
1,000 responded to the poll, and the unlikely pairing of Tayto Parkand the historic Newgrange in Co. Meath were the favourite
destinations of the 18–24-year-old age group.
Cork’s Foto Wildlife Park and the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin won out as the best destinations to visit among the 25–34-year-old cohort,while an interest in history and heritage placed Bunratty Castle and Folk Park in Co. Clare for people above the age of 65.
Not all of Ireland’s famous tourist spots will be happy with where they’ve polled, however, as The Book Kells, Titanic Belfast and The
Blarney Stone scored just 2% of the vote each.
