Ireland's Connor Ronan scores screamer for St Mirren against Rangers

Connor Ronan gave St Mirren an early lead against Rangers on Sunday with an absolute screamer of a shot.

The Irishman found the back of the net with just three minutes played in Paisley to put the hosts 1-0 up.

Ronan, who is on loan from Wolves, knocked the ball past John Lundstram and buried it in the top corner to give goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin absolutely no chance of saving it.

Social media was full of praise for the 23-year-old afterwards, with one person saying: "What a goal by Connor Ronan!"

Another added: "What a finish from Connor Ronan."

Someone else said: "That Connor Ronan goal was beautiful."

One other post read: "Connor Ronan screamer for St Mirren."

Ronan has represented the Republic of Ireland at under 17, under 19 and under 21 level and will be hoping to follow his club teammate Jamie McGrath into Stephen Kenny's senior side.
