Ireland's Brendan Dolan eliminated from the PDC World Darts Championship

Ireland's Brendan Dolan has been eliminated from the 2022 PDC World Darts Championship after falling to a 3-0 defeat by Callan Rydz.

Rydz was a non-seed but was a feared opponent for most on the fixture list.

Fermanagh native Dolan, scored well throughout the game with an average of 100 but early misses give Rydz the opportunity to dominate on the outer ring.

Rydz broke in the opening leg with a finish of 113 before landing double 20 twice to take the first set with ease and go one up.

His performance dropped in the second set but the Irishman could not take advantage, giving up chances to regain some sort of control in the game.

A miss of the single number gave Dolan a glimmer of hope but Rydz cleaned up, giving him 2-0 set lead.

The Englishman was held twice in the last set by Dolan but he finished it off with ease in the decisive fifth leg.

Rydz hit 180 before securing the match with a 100 checkout, sending the crowd wild.

Three Irishmen are still in the competition.

Steve Lennon, Daryl Gurney and William O’Connor will all return after Christmas.

Rydz meets Nathan Aspinall in round three.
