Ireland will have nine Olympic hopefuls at the final qualifier in Paris - but Michael Nevin won't be among them.
Nevin, 23, is weighing up a move into the pro ranks and, after winning bronze at the 2019 European Championships, the absence of the 23-year-old middleweight is a blow, although he had not really been a part of the elite set-up for some time.
After the success of the London Games, Ireland took home no medals in the ring from Rio and so far team captain Brendan Irvine has secured qualification for Tokyo, although Kurt Walker will also join him due to his world ranking.
Irvine, who is participating in the French capital, is seen as a medal prospect in Tokyo, as is Walker.

But so too was Nevin, so the loss of the Laois man will be keenly felt - especially as the IABA were unable to replace him for the tournament that starts on Friday as he had already competed in the tournament.
A positive development is that super heavyweight Gytis Lisinskas is permitted to take the place of Dean Gardiner in the team, after Gardiner left the elite camp to continue his third level studies.
Ireland are expected to gain more boxing qualifiers in Paris, with three boxers - Kellie Harrington, Michaela Walsh and George Bates - requiring just one victory to secure their place.
Aidan Walsh, Aoife O'Rourke, Kirill Afanasev and Emmet Brennan are also travelling with hopes of making Team Ireland in Tokyo.
