Ireland fans are set to receive a refund if they hold tickets for the postponed 2020 Six Nations fixtures.
The Irish Independent reports that fans will be getting their money back for Ireland's postponed clash with Italy as the rescheduled game is set to be played behind closed doors, or in front of reduced crowds.
It is a move that will put significant pressure on the Welsh Rugby Union, who are yet to refund fans who bought tickets for the postponed Six Nations finale against Scotland at the Principality Stadium.
Wales' March clash with the Scots was called off less than 24 hours before kick off due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The game is yet to be rescheduled and it is currently unclear what possible dates are out there, though the report in Ireland claims Andy Farrell's side are looking to play their postponed fixtures at the end of October.
Presently, tens of thousands of fans have been left out of pocket by the postponed Wales v Scotland clash.
Initial advice to fans was that their ticket would remain valid for the rearranged fixture and no refund could be issued until the new date for the game is confirmed.
Complicating matters is the fact that the Principality Stadium is currently a field hospital and it is doubtful whether it will be available to host rugby matches later this year.
Income from Wales international matches is heavily-relied upon to fund the game at all levels here.
But the WRU would lose around £4million in ticket sales alone if it were to refund supporters for the postponed Scotland clash, not to mention the food and beverage losses.
