Ireland ranks 30 places ahead of UK in list of safest countries in the world for Covid-19

Ireland is the 38th safest country in the world when it comes to Covid-19, a new list has claimed.

The Republic of Ireland has ranked 30 places ahead of the United Kingdom and 20 ahead of the United States.

This is according to a report by Deep Knowledge Group which compiled a list of the 100 most safest nations right now for the coronavirus.

Switzerland topped the lot, while our EU neighbour Germany is deemed the second safest.

The highest-risk regions right now, according to the report, are Sub-Saharan Africa and South America, as well as some countries in the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

The study said: “Switzerland and Germany achieve the #1 and #2 positions in this new special case study specifically because of their economy’s resilience, and due to the careful ways in which they are attempting to relax lockdown and economic freezing mandates in a fact and science-based manner, without sacrificing public health and safety."
