Ireland player ratings as Andy Farrell's side suffer defeat to England

Ireland scored a late try to save their blushes of finishing scoreless against England in a disappointing Twickenham defeat this evening.

In a disappointing performance, Ireland were out-fought and out-smarted by Eddie Jones' side.

Here's how the players rated:

HUGO KEENAN 6

Good in the air apart from contesting for Jonny May's opening try.

KEITH EARLS 7

Class is permanent. Excellent in the air and lovely step away from Owen Farrell almost got him a try.

CHRIS FARRELL 5

Put on his behind by Jonny May for his electric second try and held up for a second half try of his own.

BUNDEE AKI 5

Constant attempts to burst through Red Rose midfield gained little success.

JAMES LOWE 5

After his try-scoring debut was always going to find this tougher going. And it was.

ROSS BYRNE 5

Not accurate enough with his kicking game. Unfortunate that his two Test starts have come at Twickenham.

JAMISON GIBSON-PARK 5

Lucky not to concede try before half-time. Out-paced by May for second try. Loose.

CIAN HEALY 6

Cut a frustrated figure as so much went wrong around him.

RONAN KELLEHER 4

An afternoon to forget with three throw-ins lost in the first half.

ANDREW PORTER 4

As in Leinster's Euro quarter-final loss, found it tough going against an English front row at scrum time.

QUINN ROUX 4

Stupid penalty concession handed England an easy three points in the 45th minute.

JAMES RYAN 5

Tried desperately to turn the tide in his game as captain but just did not work out. Torrid time at the line-out.

CJ STANDER 5

Back in the line-up and moved to the blindside. Saved a first-half try but no real impact.

PETER O'MAHONY 6

Threw himself into the fray but similarly to little effect.

CAELAN DORIS 6

Battered backwards in the tackle time and time again.

Replacements

IAIN HENDERSON 5

ROB HERRING 5

CONOR MURRAY 6

JACOB STOCKDALE 7

WILL CONNORS 6

FINLAY BEALHAM 6

BILLY BURNS 7
