Conor Hourihane has sealed a season-long loan move to Sheffield United ahead of the transfer deadline.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder - in the squad for Wednesday’s World Cup clash with Portugal in Faro - is not in Aston Villa’s plans.
He had a successful loan spell with Swansea City during the second-half of last season and will hope to make the same impact with the Blades.
Corkman Hourihane, 30, passed his medical today and said: "I'm delighted to be here and cannot wait to get started.
“I've played against Sheffield United a few times and it is an exciting club to be involved in.
“The manager here has a great reputation in the Championship, his Fulham team beat us in a play-off final a couple of years ago and I'm looking forward to working with him."
Hourihane will join current Ireland team-mates Enda Stevens and John Egan at Bramall Lane while former Boys in Green striker David McGoldrick is also there.
