A stunned Dublin Lotto player "couldn't believe it" and had to keep checking his winning ticket after scooping a whopping €50,000 on a €20 sctratchcard.
The lucky winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, recently received his cheque by post after he landed the bumper payout on an All Cash Extravaganza card he bought in the Gala store in Sackville Court on Dorset Street in the city centre.
And he thought he was seeing things when unveiled the life-changing prize.
He said: “When I saw how much I had won, I didn’t believe it at all.
"I was saying to myself that it couldn’t be the €50,000 and then finally came around to the realisation that I wasn’t seeing things - I must have checked it so many times.
"This is, without a doubt, the most bizarre thing that has ever happened to me but in the best way possible. I still don’t really believe it though, even after receiving my cheque."
The sensible Dub won't be squandering his windfall any time soon although he does have one thing planned as soon as possible.
“I would definitely love to go on a big holiday and then after that I’ll have to see," he said.
"I won’t be flashing the cash just yet, I want to have a proper think about what to do first.”
