Tanaiste Leo Varakdar has issued a very certain update on the possibility of Ireland moving to Level 4 or 5 restrictions in the future.
The former Taoiseach was the man who held the key in March when Ireland was put into a complete and unprecedented lockdown.
But he believes that the current situation in the country does not warrant for similar actions to be taken just yet.
Speaking with Bobby Kerr on Newstalk's Down to Business, Varadkar said he was certain we wouldn't go to the last two levels unless it was "completely necessary".
He said: "One of the tough decisions I made when I was Taoiseach back in March was to lockdown the country and that resulted in hundreds of thousands of people losing their jobs and going on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment - which we created in order to give them some income support.
"And it's heartbreaking for me to think that just in the last week or so, we had to close down hospitality.
"Seeing 60,000 people back on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment, laid off for the second time in a year, and no government wants to be making those decisions and we don't make them lightly.
"And we certainly won't go to Level 4 or Level 5 unless we believe it's necessary."
Under Level 3 lockdown guidelines, people living in Dublin are advised not to travel outside the city and there can be no outdoor gatherings of more than 15 people.
But here's what the capital would look like if we went beyond this level:
Level 4
- Household visits - banned
- Indoor gatherings - banned.
- Sports events without spectators would go ahead.
- Further travel restrictions possible
- Schools and colleges would remain open but with restrictions in place.
Level 5 - (Same as lockdown restrictions experienced in March and April)
- Travel restricted to 5km radius of home
- No travel to work allowed
- No indoor or outdoor gatherings
