Ireland jobs: Dublin Bus is hosting a recruitment day with plenty of roles up for grabs

Dublin Bus has announced a recruitment day for aspiring bus drivers and engineers this weekend.

The public transport company is looking to hire for a number of roles in the capital. The recruitment day will be taking place on Saturday, August 6 from 10am to 6pm at the King’s Inn, Henrietta St, Dublin 1.

Eager applicants will have the chance to meet members of the Human Resources Department and current Bus drivers, Mechanics, and Engineering Operatives. You can pre-register for the event here but it is not essential.

Here are the roles advertised by Dublin Bus:

Bus Drivers

Salary: €632.05 per week (4-day week inclusive of shift and Sunday premium), increasing to €859.62 (5-day week inclusive of shift and Sunday premium).

Shifts: These roles operate scheduled services covering late shifts on a 4-day week from Thursday to Monday with the opportunity to progress to a 5-day week with rotating shifts.

Training: Initial training and mentoring is provided as well as on-going training and development (including periodic CPC).

Benefits: There are a wide range of benefits including either a company pension scheme or a PRSA pension scheme, a subsidised medical scheme, free bus travel, and concessionary rail travel.

Mechanics

12 Month Fixed-Term Contract (with a view to a permanent contract of employment)
Starting Salary: Salaries begin at €692.78 per week rising to €823.73 based on an 8-year pay scale, with shift premium applicable for night and shift work (up to 30% of basic pay).

Shifts: All successful applicants may be required to work, day/night or rotating shifts depending on the staffing requirements of their location and will be required to drive all company vehicles.

Benefits: There are a wide range of benefits including either a company pension scheme or a PRSA pension scheme, a subsidised medical scheme, free bus travel and concessionary rail travel.

Engineering Operatives

12 Month Fixed-Term Contract (with a view to a permanent contract of employment)
Starting Salary: €500.80 per week rising to €561.19 based on an 8 year pay scale with shift premium applicable for night and shift work (up to 30% of basic pay).

Shifts: All successful applicants may be required to work, day/night or rotating shifts depending on the staffing requirements of their location and will be required to drive all company vehicles.

Benefits: On appointment (following a probationary period of 12 months), There are a benefits including either a company pension scheme or a PRSA pension scheme, a subsidised medical scheme, free bus travel and concessionary rail travel.
