Ireland forced to cancel open training session after heavy rainfall

Ireland have been forced to cancel a scheduled open session for fans at CIT in Bishopstown, Cork this morning due to heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours.

Instead, Andy Farrell's squad will continue preparations for Sunday week's Six Nations clash against England at Musgrave Park, where a closed training session for the senior panel and the Ireland under-20s will go ahead.

An IRFU statement released this morning reads: "Unfortunately due to heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours the Ireland open session planned for CIT in Cork today has been cancelled.

"The Irish Rugby team regrets the cancellation of this event and thanks supporters for their understanding".

Ireland are targeting a Triple Crown win next week when they travel to Twickenham to face Eddie Jones' side after home wins over Scotland and Wales.
